A. Madeline Wibowo 6B
“Preserving Surabaya’s old architecture is very important because they have meaningful histories. If we take good care of the buildings from generation to generation we can be proud of it and it will attract more people to come to Surabaya to experience the heritage. If my generation doesn’t start to preserve from now, maybe all the old meaningful architecture buildings will be destroyed in the next 5 years. As a young generation, we should start to do actions that would be a good impact to the heritage of Surabaya.”

“Surabaya’s past architecture is totally different to the architecture of the new buildings. They are worth being preserved for our next generations to comprehend their cultural identity through history, value and buildings.”

Michael Zainal A. 6D
“Surabaya’s architecture is not really famous throughout the world because not many people in Indonesia have the initiative to take care of our cultural and historical buildings so they are not really promoted or noticed worldwide. Actually, Surabaya’s old buildings have their own unique and beautiful characteristics that make them worth visiting. By preserving the architectural old buildings they will be more memorable to all people globally.”

Maverick Woentono 6A
“The problem is that Surabaya’s old architectures are not visited by people as they are not tourism spots yet. Because of that, people don’t want to preserve these old buildings. I think society should regard how important they are by supporting through websites, donating to modify the buildings, informing others and other actions.”
